Description of Scout Student Activities at Universitas Islam Riau in Supporting Campus Sustainability

The Scout Movement (Gugus Depan Mahasiswa) of Universitas Islam Riau (UIR) is a student organization actively engaged in youth leadership, environmental conservation, and community service. As part of UIR’s commitment to sustainable development, Scout students regularly carry out various activities aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in the areas of education, environment, and community partnership.

Key activities include environmental leadership training, tree planting in campus areas and partner villages, energy-saving and plastic waste reduction campaigns, as well as river clean-up and nature conservation programs. The Scout unit also organizes community-based disaster preparedness training for students and local residents.

In the field of education, the UIR Scout Movement conducts outreach programs to primary and secondary schools, providing literacy support, character building, and environmental education. All activities are carried out with a spirit of collaboration, volunteerism, and social responsibility.

The involvement of Scout students at UIR demonstrates their active role in creating an environmentally conscious, inclusive, and sustainable campus environment—fully aligned with the vision and mission of Universitas Islam Riau.
